Registration & Certification

Food facilities that sell into the United States must register with the U.S. FDA, and a DUNS number is a prerequisite for that registration. Chimert offers a guided service for food businesses that need both. Chimert processes the submission; the issuing bodies and the U.S. FDA make the decisions and communicate the outcome directly to you.

Who it is for

Nigerian food businesses that want to sell into the United States, Canada, or elsewhere in North and South America, where U.S. FDA facility registration is expected. One U.S. FDA registration covers all the products made at a facility.

How it works

1. Choose the combined service (DUNS number plus U.S. FDA registration), or the U.S. FDA-only service if you already hold a DUNS number.
2. Send us your company and facility details, product list and the documents on the requirements checklist.
3. Pay online for the service you chose and receive a receipt.
4. Chimert processes the submission. The U.S. FDA contacts you directly, so answer calls and emails promptly: missed contact is the main cause of delay.
5. Track your application's progress from your account: submitted, documents under review, payment confirmed, filed with the U.S. FDA, awaiting FDA contact, completed.

Pricing

• DUNS + U.S. FDA registration (combined): ₦120,000
• U.S. FDA registration only (you already hold a DUNS number): ₦60,000

Requirements

You will give us the applicant and company details, the facility address, your product list, a contact person, and the email and phone number the U.S. FDA should use to reach you. You upload supporting documents against a checklist, and each document is marked pending, uploaded, accepted or rejected with a reason. The checklist is shown when you start an application.

Renewal

Registration must be renewed: the first renewal falls in December of the first year, and then every two years. We show your renewal date and remind you ahead of the deadline.
